About the role

The Area Manager leads a team of Senior Business Banking Managers to deliver excellent outcomes for broker‑introduced and proprietary customers within ANZ’s Commercial Broker & Origination proposition. This permanent, onsite role in Sydney focuses on driving sales, revenue, and a high‑quality customer experience while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Senior Business Banking Managers to acquire and service broker‑introduced and proprietary customers.
• Drive overall sales and revenue performance measured by Business Lending FUM and cross‑sell opportunities.
• Ensure team productivity through a well‑executed sales operating rhythm, response times and conversion of opportunities.
• Maintain a well‑managed business with compliance to operational and credit risk standards.
• Establish a coaching culture that develops deep credit expertise and supports continuous learning.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, remote banking teams and key referral partners.
• Deliver outstanding customer experience measured by Net Promoter Score improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development and commercial credit within a banking environment.
• Strong coaching and stakeholder management abilities.
• Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills.
• Commercial acumen with ability to develop and execute strategy.
• Problem‑solving mindset and passion for helping business owners thrive.

Required skills

• Deep commercial credit expertise, including SBB lending processes and credit policy.
• Ability to assess credit worthiness and structure suitable credit solutions.
• Experience in driving sales performance and cross‑selling initiatives.
