APS 6 Investigator / Regulation Officer

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting, on behalf of a Federal Government client in Canberra, an experienced APS 6 Investigator / Regulation Officer. This is a non-ongoing assignment from 2 November 2026 to 2 November 2027, offering complex casework and regulatory outcomes in a government environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex investigations, reviews and case assessments
• Gather, analyse and evaluate evidence from multiple sources
• Prepare detailed investigation reports, briefs, recommendations and correspondence
• Interpret and apply legislation, policies and operational procedures
• Conduct interviews and engage with internal and external stakeholders
• Identify risks, trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on investigation matters
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with government standards

Required profile

• Experience conducting investigations, compliance activities, reviews or regulatory assessments
• Australian citizenship (required for this federal government role)
• Current Baseline Security Clearance, or ability to obtain one

What we offer

• APS 6 salary package of $99,734 - $111,701 plus 15.4% superannuation, depending on experience
• Non-ongoing assignment in Canberra
