Allied Health Educator OT 5 (Mental Health Early Career)

About the role

Mercy Health is offering a Mental Health Early Career opportunity to build a pipeline of allied health occupational therapists into its Mental Health and Wellbeing services. This is a part-time, 12-month fixed-term position working across the Mercy Mental Health sites, funded to support educator resources for graduate occupational therapists. It sits within the Learning and Development Team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver professional development activities for staff to meet the needs of the service.
• Provide hands-on teaching and clinical support to the graduate occupational therapy cohort.
• Support, review and evaluate graduate programs.
• Contribute to a coordinated, comprehensive education framework for the occupational therapy undergraduate program, addressing organisational, discipline and individual professional development needs.
• Contribute to training and education activities for the broader Mercy Mental Health Program.

Required profile

• Specialist mental health occupational therapy experience.
• Proven ability to work in advanced areas of education coordination for professional practice in occupational therapy.
• Post-qualification experience of 5 years, with registration with AHPRA and a current police record check and Working with Children check.
