Allied Health Assistant - Move to Improve (Research Project)

About the role

WA Health is seeking an experienced Allied Health Assistant to join its Move to Improve team at Perth Children's Hospital, supporting children and families in achieving their physical activity goals. The role is a fixed-term part-time appointment (45.6 to 76 hours per fortnight, 0.6 to 1 FTE) running through to 27 February 2028, with preferred work days including Monday and Friday. It sits within a multi-disciplinary team of exercise physiologists, dietitians, physiotherapists and psychologists delivering physical activity programs under a research framework.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with child assessments and physical activity sessions, including preparing session locations and equipment
• Support individual and group physical activity and play-based interventions
• Support the team with administrative and research-based tasks
• Provide feedback to clinicians on children's progress and help communicate with families
• Maintain team resources, equipment and accurate documentation
• Take part in team meetings, case discussions, educational initiatives and quality improvement activities

Required profile

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required; visa holders with working rights may hold fixed-term or casual contracts
• Experience working with children should be clearly documented
• Interest in physical activity programs, child development or play-based interventions
• Subject to a Western Australian Working with Children check and criminal records screening
