Airfield Support Officer

About the role

Austcorp is recruiting, on behalf of a leading organisation, an experienced Aerodrome Officer to support the day-to-day operations and safety of an aerodrome in regional Western Australia. The role keeps the airfield safe, secure and fully operational, covering safety, operational compliance and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular airfield inspections to identify hazards, defects and potential safety risks.
• Monitor runway, taxiway and apron conditions and ensure operational safety requirements are met.
• Identify and report foreign object debris (FOD), wildlife hazards and other risks.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and contractors across aerodrome facilities and infrastructure.
• Monitor aerodrome lighting, signage and other operational assets.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and compliance documentation.
• Support emergency response procedures and aerodrome safety systems.
• Liaise with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders and ensure activities meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) or Works Safety Officer (WSO) qualification is essential.
• Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) preferred.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 security clearance.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Ability to work and live in a regional location.

Required skills

• WHS, Dangerous Goods, Ramp Operations and CDL qualifications are listed as additional qualifications.
• First aid/CPR.
• Strong communication, reporting and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond to operational issues.

The package is $100-$140K depending on experience, and the position is permanent.
