AI and Automation Lead

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is hiring an AI and Automation Lead for its Individual Life division. The role sits in the IL AI Innovation & Governance Hub, which works with business teams across underwriting, customer service, product, marketing and distribution to turn operational challenges into automation solutions. The Lead owns the Hub's delivery pipeline, develops a team of two analysts and reports to the Head of IL AI Innovation & Governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build automation solutions in Microsoft Power Platform, AI Builder and Copilot Studio, hands-on in production
• Translate business challenges into automation opportunities through discovery sessions with business teams
• Lead end-to-end delivery of AI and automation initiatives, managing priorities, dependencies and risks across a concurrent pipeline
• Coach and develop a team of analysts and build their capability
• Partner with senior business stakeholders to manage expectations and communicate progress
• Embed AI governance and compliance standards in line with TAL's AI Implementation Policy

Required profile

• Demonstrated hands-on experience building and delivering AI and automation solutions in a corporate environment
• Experience engaging and influencing senior business stakeholders and communicating technical concepts without jargon
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior practitioners
• Background in financial services, insurance or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks or regulated AI deployment practices

Required skills

• Power Automate and AI Builder
• Copilot Studio or a strong Power Platform background
• Business analysis and discovery skills
• Microsoft certifications (PL-200, PL-400, AI-900 or equivalent)
• Exposure to generative AI concepts such as prompt engineering, RAG architectures and AI Builder document intelligence
