About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to spend one hour with an elderly lady who enjoys conversation and companionship. The volunteer's companion has a creative spirit and enjoys sketching, reading and watching British dramas or classic mysteries. Visits are flexible, from one hour per week to one per fortnight, and can be scheduled any day of the week.
Key responsibilities
- Spend one hour with the resident, listening and sharing conversation and companionship
- Visit weekly or fortnightly, depending on your availability
- Keep visits between 9am and 5pm, with a preferred window of 9am to 4pm on weekdays
Required profile
- 18 years or older
- A genuine love of connecting with others; no special skills needed
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
