Wednesday Games Volunteer - Residential Frail Aged Care

About the role

HammondCare is looking for a Games Volunteer to run a fun, semi-active Wednesday afternoon at Mason Frail Aged Care Home. The role brings residents together through board games, quizzes and light-hearted activities, helping them connect, socialise and feel included. It suits someone who enjoys being on their feet, building rapport with people and leading a group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support group games and activities on fortnightly Wednesdays, 2:00pm to 3:30pm.
• Encourage participation, celebrate everyone's efforts and help create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Help residents connect, laugh and feel included.
• Take part in a semi-active role involving bending, moving around and engaging participants.

Required profile

• Regular attendance during a 6-month commitment; able to commit to fortnightly Wednesdays.
• 18 years and over.
• NDIS screening arranged and paid for by HammondCare.

Volunteers are contacted after applying through the volunteer recruitment coordinator. The role is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which links elderly people with volunteers in their local community.
