Aged Care Support Worker

About the role

Coastlink, a not-for-profit organisation on the Central Coast, provides home care through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Support at Home Packages, including respite, community access, shopping assistance and companionship, and runs a friendship group. It is seeking Aged Care Support Workers who want to deliver person-centred care that helps clients stay independent and well in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional support to clients and help them meet their goals and aspirations
• Contribute to the overall care, health and wellbeing of clients
• Support social engagement and inclusion in the community
• Record client activities effectively
• Work within person-centred practice principles

Required profile

• Minimum Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent qualification
• Current Australian driver's licence and a current First Aid certificate
• NDIS Worker Screen Check and Working with Children Check
• Experience with people in aged care highly regarded; experience with dementia desirable
• Ability to work both in a team and independently, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of workplace health and safety and risk management for home-based care
