Advanced Pharmacist – Strategic Leadership Role

About the role

As an Advanced Pharmacist you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice to enhance pharmaceutical services across Queensland. Working with senior government officials, health services and professional bodies, you will shape policy, service delivery and system‑wide initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects and programmes that improve pharmacy services statewide.
• Develop and maintain pharmacy guidelines that align with best practice, national standards and legislative requirements.
• Provide authoritative policy and professional advice on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, Pharmaceutical Reform Agreement and Section 100 programmes.
• Engage with stakeholders, negotiate outcomes and foster partnerships to support optimal medicines management.
• Prepare presentations, submissions and briefings for senior decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification enabling registration as a pharmacist in Queensland and current AHPRA registration.
• Extensive clinical knowledge in hospital and community pharmacy practice.
• Deep understanding of Queensland Health’s policy and legislative framework for pharmaceuticals.
• Proven ability to synthesise complex information, exercise independent judgement and manage multiple statewide projects.
