Administration Clerk - Port Phillip Prison

About the role

A fixed-term (until June 2027), part-time (20 hours per week) Administration Clerk position is available at Port Phillip Prison, Truganina, Victoria. The role supports and facilitates patient care through coordination of access to services, referral management and information management systems for the St John's unit of the St Vincent's Correctional Health Coordination Hub Service (SVCHS). It is based at Port Phillip Prison.

Key responsibilities

• Appointment scheduling and entries in the electronic patient record.
• Routine administration: typing, telephone, data entry, storing appointments, meeting preparation, minute taking, photocopying, scanning, faxing and emailing.
• Effective communication with SVCHS staff, Correctional staff, subcontracted services and external health services.
• Reporting and escalating issues to the Nurse Unit Manager.

Required profile

• Year 12 or equivalent literacy and numeracy.
• Current police check.
• Ability to be self-directed and work with minimum supervision.
• Interest in a patient-focused environment and excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Working knowledge of the Windows environment, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
• Willingness to complete the PSC training course.
