Active Directory Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to design, implement, secure and optimise enterprise identity and directory services. You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and application teams to ensure resilient, secure access across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and secure enterprise Active Directory environments, including domains, forests, trusts, replication, domain controllers, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and authentication services.
• Support hybrid identity initiatives such as Microsoft Entra ID integration, synchronisation technologies and cloud‑based authentication solutions.
• Monitor platform health, performance, backup, disaster recovery and operational resilience.
• Develop PowerShell automation, technical documentation and engineering standards to improve efficiency.
• Partner with cybersecurity and other technical teams to identify and remediate identity risks and support incident investigations.

Required profile

• Strong experience administering enterprise Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Windows authentication.
• Demonstrated ability to script and automate processes using PowerShell.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity integration and AD Certificate Services.
• Understanding of identity security, privileged access management, disaster recovery and Microsoft security best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and stakeholder communication skills.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for NV‑1 security clearance.
