Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

Troocoo is recruiting, on behalf of an established Australian national commercial fuel organisation, an Accounts Payable Manager to lead its local and offshore team in Brisbane's Inner East. This is a permanent, full-time position with hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and flexibility for earlier starts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounts payable team across Australia and the Philippines, providing ongoing mentorship and support
• Allocate workloads, monitor deadlines and report against key performance indicators
• Oversee high-volume accounts payable operations, processing up to 1,100 invoices per week across about 6,000 vendors
• Manage supplier payment runs, including multiple currencies, reconciliations and escalated payment queries
• Oversee the purchase order function and provide leadership to the Procurement Specialist
• Maintain strong financial controls, accurate supplier records and compliance with payment procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and team efficiency

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable
• Previous experience overseeing high-volume accounts payable operations
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including workload allocation, coaching and performance management
• Experience managing offshore teams and purchase order processes is advantageous
• A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or a relevant qualification is preferred
• Candidates must have full Australian working rights and be currently based in Queensland

Required skills

• Strong understanding of supplier payments, reconciliations and financial controls
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems
• Microsoft Dynamics experience is highly regarded
