Accountant – National Operations

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Accountant – National Operations to manage accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis and financial controls across Australia, including Perth and Melbourne operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections for the national operations.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records, perform account and balance‑sheet reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Process supplier invoices, customer accounts, payroll‑related accounting and inventory valuations.
• Analyse landed costs, freight, customs and import expenses, and monitor product margins and cost‑of‑goods‑sold performance.
• Liaise with external accountants, tax advisers and support audit and year‑end processes.

Required profile

• Australian Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant professional accounting experience in an Australian business.
• Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts and managing AP/AR.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS and taxation compliance.
• Experience with inventory‑based, wholesale or import businesses.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, SAP or Zoho Books.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
