About the role

The Accountant will support the Senior Financial Accountant in month‑end close activities, preparing journal entries, reconciliations and analytical reports for the Surry Hills campus of Torrens University Australia.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations across banking, revenue, receivables and other financial statement line items.
  • Assist with supplementary monthly and quarterly close deliverables, including disclosure packages and analytics.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements and respond to ad‑hoc financial requests.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX internal control requirements and critical reporting spreadsheets.

Required profile

  • Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in finance month‑end close processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.

Required skills

  • Advanced Excel (advantage).
  • CA or CPA designation (advantage).
  • PeopleSoft experience (advantage).
