Accountant – Financial Australia

About the role

Built Environs is hiring an Accountant for its Financial Australia business unit in Adelaide. The role is permanent and full time, with hands-on experience from day one, mentorship from industry experts and a people-first culture focused on growth and wellbeing. The accountant works closely with the Finance team and project-based resources to produce accurate and timely monthly financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Support financial analysis, general ledger reconciliation, overhead cost management, intercompany cost accounting and project report consolidation.
• Generate and process recharge invoices for related entities, process intercompany creditors and manage the intercompany ledger, including queries and payments in Australia and New Zealand.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with Payroll Tax and Work Cover returns.
• Support regional management teams with overhead cost management and processing.
• Process general ledger journals.
• Help prepare and submit monthly accounts (trial balance, P&L and balance sheet), job costing reports and cash flow forecasts.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or Business degree with a major in Accounting.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• At least 3 years of financial or professional accounting experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Strong commitment to the organisation's values of safety and care, honesty and integrity, customer focus, teamwork and performance excellence.
• Australian permanent resident.
