Accountant – Finance Role in Industrial Business

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, commercially‑minded Accountant to join a well‑established service‑based business operating in the industrial sector. Reporting directly to senior management, you will own the end‑to‑end accounting function and partner with operational teams to deliver insightful financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Daily cash‑flow forecasting and reporting
• Monthly management reporting, financial analysis and balance‑sheet reconciliations
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS, payroll tax and superannuation
• Coordination of budgets, forecasts and financial planning activities
• Management of accounts payable, accounts receivable and debtor collections
• Fixed‑asset and lease accounting, month‑end journals and accruals
• Inventory analysis, stock‑take coordination and margin reviews
• Payroll oversight and employee entitlement reporting
• Support for HR administration, workers compensation and insurance processes
• Liaising with external accountants and advisors
• Identifying process improvements and driving operational efficiencies
• Mentoring and supporting administration and accounts staff

Required profile

• Previous experience in a broad Accountant or Finance Manager role
• Strong financial reporting and reconciliation capabilities
• Experience managing end‑to‑end accounting processes in a small‑to‑medium business
• Knowledge of payroll, taxation and statutory reporting requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Experience in industrial, automotive, manufacturing, engineering, construction or trade‑based environments is highly regarded
