5-Axis CNC Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

A client expanding its world-class aerospace manufacturing operation in Australia is looking for an experienced 5-axis CNC machinist. The role involves machining high-value precision components in a modern, clean and climate-controlled facility, with career progression, ongoing training and an above-award salary. It is a permanent full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centres
• Produce complex aerospace and precision-engineered components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Select tooling and machine offsets
• Carry out first-off inspection and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain micron-level tolerances and work within ISO-accredited quality systems
• Support continuous improvement and meet production schedules without compromising quality

Required profile

• Commercial experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres
• Background in aerospace, aviation, defence, high-tech manufacturing or automotive precision engineering
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft structures, motorsport or similar fields is preferred

• Advantageous: DMG Mori, Mazak, Makino, Hermle or Matsuura
