WTG Service Technician

About the role

Vestas is seeking a qualified Electrical Service Technician to join the on‑site service team at Taralga Wind Farm. You will play a vital part in keeping wind turbines operational, supporting Australia’s transition to renewable energy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on wind turbines.
• Respond to out‑of‑hours service calls on a rostered basis.
• Maintain company vehicles and plant equipment in clean, good condition.
• Operate high‑voltage (HV) and low‑voltage (LV) systems within authorised limits.
• Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE and attend safety/toolbox meetings.
• Complete site induction and comply with the Service Maintenance Agreement (SMA).
• Adhere to OH&S legislation and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Australian recognised Electrical License and/or Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Full driver’s licence.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Motivation to learn new skills in a growing industry.
• Understanding of safety principles and willingness to drive compliance.
• Experience with HV/LV, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools and ability to work at heights in confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small team.
