Systems Engineer – Windows (Region Services)

About the role

The Systems Engineer will lead design, implementation and automation of complex Windows infrastructure across multiple environments for AWS Region Services in Australia. You will work with AWS services, develop automated solutions and support secure, scalable workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated deployment and management solutions for Windows infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Architect and maintain Active Directory and domain controller infrastructure across multiple security domains.
• Develop PowerShell, Python and other automation workflows for system administration and fleet‑wide patching.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers and review code changes for scalability and security.

Required profile

• Australian citizen eligible for Government Security Clearance and able to complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment.
• 5+ years of systems engineering, SRE, DevOps or related experience.
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling.
• PowerShell and Python scripting.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and networking fundamentals.
