About the role
The Senior HR Officer will deliver a customer‑focused, solutions‑driven HR advisory service across the Public Transport Authority. Working closely with managers and employees, the role supports a broad range of HR functions while ensuring compliance with organisational values, policies and legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice on fixed‑term conversion, recruitment, performance and probation management, employment conditions, classification, redeployment and diversity initiatives.
- Support the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Contribute to workplace investigations and public‑sector compliance activities.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate with the HR team to drive business improvement initiatives.
- Help deliver contemporary HR services that enhance organisational capability and culture.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a generalist HR professional in a complex organisation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving abilities to provide practical HR solutions.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
- Experience contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required skills
- Knowledge of HR policies, standards and relevant legislation.
- Familiarity with workplace investigations and public‑sector compliance frameworks.
