Senior Executive Director – Investment and Commissioning

About the role

The Queensland Government is seeking a Senior Executive Director to lead the Investment and Commissioning unit within its Commissioning division. This senior leader will shape and deliver service responses to family needs through strategic partnerships across government and non‑government organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, investment and implementation of family‑focused programs and services.
• Partner with senior executives across the Queensland public sector and interjurisdictionally to drive better outcomes.
• Provide high‑level strategic and operational advice to the Minister, Director‑General and Board of Management.
• Oversee engagement with state‑wide industry partners to ensure high‑quality delivery by funded non‑government partners.
• Guide policy development, change management, and cultural and diversity capability within the department.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a large, dynamic and complex organisation.
• Strong background in strategy, policy implementation, service delivery and customer focus.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver change in challenging environments and to build partnerships.
• Excellent judgment, integrity, resilience and communication/negotiation skills.
