Senior Civil Designer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Civil Designer for its Mining & Resources team in Brisbane. The role leads the delivery of civil design packages across sustaining capital, brownfield and greenfield mining, bulk materials handling and industrial infrastructure projects throughout Queensland and Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil design delivery of complex mining, bulk materials handling and industrial infrastructure projects from feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
• Create innovative design solutions for site development, earthworks, roads, drainage, access infrastructure and operational facilities using Civil 3D and advanced digital tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, mechanical, process, electrical and geotechnical disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive digital innovation through model‑based delivery, automation and data‑centric design practices.
• Mentor and develop designers and modelers locally and across Global Design Centres.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering, design or drafting qualifications with experience delivering civil design for mining, bulk materials handling and heavy industrial projects.
• Advanced Civil 3D expertise covering earthworks, grading, drainage, corridors and site development.
• Proven experience on sustaining capital, brownfield upgrades and expansion projects in operational mining or industrial facilities.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage large‑scale project interfaces.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset.
