Security Architect – Secure by Design

About the role

Join Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services Security and Fraud Prevention team as a Security Architect. You will shape secure architectures for business initiatives, work with cloud and container technologies, and help evolve the organisation’s security capability.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to provide security advice and define security architectures for projects.
• Partner with technical delivery teams to design secure solutions using AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes and automation tools.
• Review existing security capabilities and deliver recommendations to uplift the security landscape.
• Support the secure evolution of the organisation by applying frameworks such as SABSA, NIST 800‑53 and MITRE ATT&CK.

Required profile

• 10+ years in technical design and architecture roles, with 7+ years focused on security in large enterprises.
• Hands‑on experience configuring, operating, designing and architecting security solutions for business and technology initiatives.
• Familiarity with formal security architecture frameworks (SABSA, NIST, Open FAIR, MITRE ATT&CK/D3FEND) and threat‑modelling methodologies.
• Experience working in an Agile environment and staying current with vendor roadmaps and emerging trends.
