Secretary – EU Delegation to Australia

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Canberra is seeking a motivated Secretary to support the Head of the Trade Section and the wider team. This one‑year fixed‑term role may be renewed and could lead to a permanent contract, depending on budget and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and logistical support to the Head of Section and the Trade Section team.
• Manage diaries, handle telephone enquiries, process documentation and track event registrations.
• Draft, finalise and dispatch notes, letters and reports for filing and distribution.
• Arrange business trips and oversee related administrative follow‑up.
• Coordinate logistics for receptions, meetings and conferences.
• Maintain and update contact distribution lists and the Section’s electronic filing system.
• Provide backup for the Political, Press and Information Section secretariat and for the Ambassador’s secretariat when required.
