Renewables & Storage Engineer – Utility‑Scale Projects

About the role
Aurecon is looking for an experienced Renewables & Storage Engineer to lead utility‑scale battery energy storage system (BESS) and power generation projects across Australia and beyond. You will work within a collaborative, inclusive team that values flexible working and innovative thinking.
Key responsibilities
- Lead development and delivery of utility‑scale BESS and renewable generation projects.
- Conduct scoping, concept, and feasibility studies for battery and generation assets.
- Support EPC/IPP procurement, including specifications, tender evaluation, and negotiations.
- Provide advisory services on market trends, project strategies, and technical solutions.
- Assist projects through detailed design, owner’s engineer, lender’s engineer, and O&M phases.
- Perform lender due diligence and technical risk assessments.
- Develop business cases integrating technical, commercial, and market insights.
- Build client relationships, support business development, and prepare proposals.
Required profile
- 10+ years of experience in power industry, consulting, storage or energy project development.
- Strong understanding of the full project development lifecycle from approvals to operations.
- Solid knowledge of electrical infrastructure and large‑scale battery services.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver value‑focused outcomes.
- Excellent analytical, commercial and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Relevant engineering qualification (electrical preferred) with RPEQ registration or eligibility.
