Project Manager - Utility Works

About the role

Key Consult, a Melbourne‑based electrical engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Utility Works Project Manager to lead contestable works projects across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. The role reports to the Utility Works Senior Project Manager and is based in Notting Hill, Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of contestable works projects including URD, overhead electricity infrastructure and utility augmentation.
• Coordinate activities from planning and design through construction, auditing, approval and asset handover.
• Liaise with power authorities, utility providers, contractors, consultants and clients to secure approvals.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, authority applications, reports and handover packages.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and progress meetings, addressing construction queries.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and resolve technical and delivery issues.

Required profile

• Electrical Engineering degree or Diploma of Project Management (Australian‑recognised).
• 2‑3 years experience in the Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI) or utility infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of VESI standards, approval processes and compliance obligations.
• Experience delivering utility, power authority or contestable works projects from design to handover.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
