Manager, Device Services & End User Computing
IAG · Melbourne
Job description
About the role
IAG, the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand, is looking for a Manager, Device Services & End User Computing. You will own the physical and mobile device fleet end to end: Mac, mobile and Windows client hardware, mobile phones and tablets, mobile carriage (including LEO satellite carriage for remote coverage), managed print with follow-me, and the procurement, asset management, build, distribution and recovery operations that keep the fleet moving. The role is full time and permanent, based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a technical team covering device lifecycle, mobile devices and print, coaching engineers, managing performance and career growth, and building an inclusive, high-trust culture.
- Own device procurement, asset management, build, distribution and recovery, including standards, forecasting, logistics partners, joiner/mover/leaver flows and secure disposal.
- Drive the shift to intelligent operations: data-driven, observable, self-healing, automated and AIOps-enabled, using telemetry, observability and AIOps tooling to reduce support toil and MTTR.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of products, including roadmaps, refresh and retirement plans, and deprecate products that no longer meet business needs.
- Act as the voice of the customer, maintain relationships with business and partner stakeholders, and provide cost and capability transparency.
- Manage IT product budgets and a P&L, and lead procurement strategy and commercial negotiation for hardware, carriage and print.
- Monitor vendor and partner relationships (Apple, Jamf, Microsoft/Intune, HP, Dell, Optus, Telstra, Spark, One, SKTes, LEO satellite carriers, print and logistics partners) and drive high-quality change management.
Required profile
- 5+ years in technology business or product management with end-to-end service ownership.
- Deep hands-on technical knowledge of enterprise device fleets (Apple hardware, mobile devices, Windows client hardware); depth in mobile carriage and managed print is desirable.
- Experience managing a significant product P&L or budget, including hardware procurement spend.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computing or a related field, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
- People leadership experience and direct experience in vendor management and commercial negotiation.
- Financial services background desirable; a working knowledge of design thinking is also mentioned.
Required skills
- Intelligent operations / AIOps: observability, telemetry, automated remediation, shift-left support.
- AI applied to endpoint management (endpoint analytics, agent-based automation).
- Device build, distribution and recovery operations, including imaging, zero-touch provisioning and secure wipe/disposal.
- Root cause analysis, process optimisation and facilitation.
What we offer
- 13% superannuation and 20 days annual leave plus extra leave.
- Flexible work arrangements and up to 50% off personal insurance.
- 20 weeks paid parental leave and access to learning resources.
