Maintenance Technician / Handyman

About the role

We are seeking a practical and reliable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to support the day‑to‑day upkeep of our boutique hotel in Sydney. This part‑time, hands‑on position involves a variety of general maintenance duties across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance across guest rooms and public areas.
• Perform general repairs, basic plumbing (unblocking drains, fixing minor leaks) and basic painting/patching.
• Use and maintain general tools and equipment safely.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and record completed tasks.
• Assist with contractor coordination and ensure work meets hotel and brand standards.

Required profile

• Formal trade qualification or relevant vocational training.
• Experience in hospitality or heritage building environments.
• Familiarity with hotel maintenance management systems such as hub os.
• Capability, consistency and a positive can‑do attitude.

Required skills

• White Card certification.
• Basic plumbing skills (unblocking drains, minor leak repairs).
• Basic painting and patching abilities.
• Proficient use of general tools and equipment.
