Healthcare Compliance Officer – Australia & New Zealand

About the role

The Healthcare Compliance Officer (HCCO) for Australia and New Zealand will lead end‑to‑end compliance strategy and operations for DePuy Synthes’ Orthopaedics business. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures ethical conduct, risk management and adherence to healthcare laws across the ANZ markets.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Healthcare Compliance Officer for Australia and New Zealand.
• Develop and execute compliance strategies aligned with global and APAC priorities.
• Identify, assess and manage compliance risks related to commercial, promotional and professional education activities.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to embed compliance controls into business processes.
• Oversee training, monitoring, risk assessments and issue‑management programs.
• Support investigations, audits and regulatory interactions in partnership with Legal.
• Monitor regulatory developments and prepare risk assessments for senior leadership.

Required profile

• 8–10 years progressive experience in healthcare compliance, legal, risk management or audit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance laws and regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams or complex compliance programs.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior leaders.
