Food and Beverage Assistant Manager

About the role

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a food and beverage professional with strong leadership skills to support daily operations at Mr. Good Guy and the hotel’s other F&B outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations at the restaurant, ensuring friendly, professional, and efficient service.
• Support bar, lobby lounge, conference room, room service and minibar operations.
• Coach, train and motivate team members, handling recruitment, induction and performance reviews.
• Manage rostering, wage costs and staffing levels to meet business needs.
• Monitor beverage costs, stock levels, conduct monthly stocktakes and report findings.
• Control departmental budgets, identify revenue opportunities and ensure compliance with licensing, food safety and WHS standards.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures, cash handling and POS system operation.
• Handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally, contributing to the Novotel service promise.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a food and beverage leadership role, preferably in a hotel or busy restaurant.
• Hands‑on leadership style with proven coaching and team development abilities.
• Experience creating rosters, managing wage costs and matching staffing to demand.
• Strong understanding of beverage stock control, cost management and financial performance.
• Current RSA certificate for Tasmania; First Aid certification desirable.
• Current working rights in Australia; sponsorship not available.
