Field Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Field Engineer will join Bechtel’s Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, Queensland. Reporting to the Lead E&I Field Engineer, you will support the delivery of the EPC scope for the new copper processing plant, ensuring electrical and instrumentation works are executed safely, on schedule and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and review electrical design drawings and specifications.
• Oversee cable installation, termination and field verification of materials.
• Provide technical direction to field electricians and instrumentation personnel.
• Plan and package work, manage material logistics and verify quantities.
• Conduct safety, quality control and technical inspections and testing.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and resolve constructability or design issues.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in electrical and instrumentation construction engineering.
• Ability to read and apply engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of safety and quality standards on construction sites.
• Effective communication with engineering, procurement and field teams.
