Mechanical Field Engineer – Full‑Time FIFO

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to join the Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, Queensland. The role supports the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer and provides on‑site engineering expertise for mechanical construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications on‑site.
• Verify material deliveries and quantities against project requirements.
• Provide technical direction to field mechanical personnel and subcontractors.
• Assist construction superintendents in developing work scope packages and cost estimates for major equipment.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and compliance during installation and testing.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical field engineering within EPC or mining projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of material verification, safety, and quality processes.
• Proven capability to coordinate subcontractors and support work‑packaging activities.
