Depot Manager - Wholesale Meat Operations

About the role

JBS Australia is seeking a commercially focused Depot Manager to lead sales performance and daily operations at its wholesale meat depot. The role drives business growth through new customer acquisition, product sourcing and stock strategy, while overseeing the team, safety and compliance so that the sales operation performs well.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Sales team identifies and pursues new business opportunities and sources products to meet customer and market needs.
• Collaborate with other JBS Australia business units, including beef, lamb and pork operations.
• Work with Finance and Sales so that stock levels and product mix support the sales strategy, minimising waste and maximising availability.
• Support Finance with debtor control and manage budget and resource allocation plans to meet sales targets, communicating them to Group Senior Leadership.
• Lead, motivate and support the depot team, including sales, warehouse and logistics staff, focusing on operational efficiency, stock management and problem resolution.
• Hold overall responsibility for site safety and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations under heavy vehicle legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency, and approve SOX reports in line with group requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Depot, Site or Operations Manager with strong exposure to sales or account management, ideally in wholesale meat, food distribution, cold chain or FMCG.
• Demonstrated success developing new business and growing customer accounts.
• Experience managing budgets, stock strategies and financial exposure.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and CoR obligations.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, target-driven setting.
