CFO / Group Financial Controller - Automotive Dealership Group

About the role

A major multi-site, multi-franchise new car dealership group in Coastal North Queensland is looking for an experienced CFO or Group Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CEO, COO and Group CFO, the role leads and develops a team of eight Financial Controllers and brings greater consistency, visibility and commercial discipline across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgets, forecasts, monthly results and dealership performance reviews, working with dealership leaders to spot financial issues early and act on them
• Lead the rollout of a Power BI dashboard across the group, mapping financial requirements and managing the project
• Analyse profitability across new and used vehicles, finance and insurance, service, parts and other operations
• Monitor working capital: vehicle stock, aged inventory, floorplan funding, debtors and cash flow
• Assess dealership investments, capital expenditure, franchise changes and other commercial opportunities
• Provide the CEO, COO and Group CFO with clear insight into financial performance, risks and opportunities, with commercial recommendations

Required profile

• Essential: current or previous car dealership financial management experience; must have been a CFO, Group Financial Controller or senior Financial Controller in a franchised automotive dealership
• Applicants without automotive dealership financial management experience will not be considered
• Experience managing and developing Financial Controllers across multiple sites, and improving reporting systems, financial controls and management information, is highly regarded
• Analytical, commercially focused, able to challenge results and build relationships with dealer principals, general managers and senior executives
• Must be physically located in Australia and an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold a permanent residency visa

What we offer

• Remuneration of $180,000 to $220,000 plus superannuation and a company vehicle, negotiable on experience
