Business Development Manager - Cyber Security

About the role

3Columns is a fast-growing cyber security company offering a wide range of services, including a Managed SOC service described as industry-first. It is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join its growing sales team in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth. The BDM generates qualified leads, works with them and builds relationships with new customers.

Key responsibilities

• Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, qualify and generate leads.
• Prepare for calls, run qualification and discovery calls, handle objections and follow up.
• Develop relationships with customers so their requirements are understood.
• Work with internal pre-sales or engineering teams to deliver customer solutions.
• Lead the team through every step of the sales cycle, from discovery to closure.

Required profile

• Prior experience in the cyber industry.
• Proven experience selling cybersecurity solutions such as firewall, email security and EDR.
• Proven experience selling services such as Managed SOC/MDR and ISO27001 ASD8 consulting.
• Proven experience selling services such as penetration testing and red-teaming.
• Minimum 4-8 years of sales experience, ideally in security or IT.
• Eager to learn, a self-starter who can work independently and in a team, and comfortable using the phone and social media to generate leads.

Required skills

• Exceptional relationship-building skills and commercial awareness.
• Solid sales experience, including relationship building with key vendors and a strong sales strategy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
