Business Development Manager – Applied (HVAC/Chillers)

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to grow its Applied Solutions business in Australia. Based in Sydney, you will identify new opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and influence project specifications for HVAC and chiller solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term sales strategies to meet growth targets.
• Identify, pursue, and secure profitable new business across the territory.
• Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, owners, government agencies and developers.
• Influence project specifications to include Johnson Controls Applied products and systems.
• Lead preparation and submission of sales proposals, tenders and commercial submissions.
• Maintain a robust pipeline and accurate forecasting using Salesforce.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maximise customer satisfaction and deliver exceptional outcomes.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of sales experience, preferably in Applied HVAC or building solutions.
• Proven business development and hunting mindset with a track record of exceeding targets.
• Strong consultative and solution‑selling capabilities.
• Commercial acumen and understanding of financial drivers.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Established network in the local market and ability to work autonomously.
