Buildings Control Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Buildings Control Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building automation, smart‑building and control systems across a range of infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept, detailed design, construction, testing and commissioning of building automation and control systems.
• Develop control philosophies, functional descriptions, sequences of operation and system architectures.
• Design and specify Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems.
• Review automation designs, specifications, shop drawings and contractor submissions.
• Provide technical guidance during construction, testing and commissioning, including onsite implementation.
• Coordinate automation requirements across mechanical, electrical, digital, security, fire, hydraulic and sustainability disciplines.
• Prepare technical scopes, specifications and fee proposals for tenders.

Required profile

• Strong experience in building automation, controls engineering or smart buildings.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for innovation.

• Automation protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, OPC
