Network Planning Engineer - Water Infrastructure

About the role

Join AECOM’s Water Infrastructure team in Melbourne to deliver high‑quality water network planning solutions for large‑scale, iconic projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will work with multidisciplinary engineers to create flexible, sustainable, and cost‑effective water and wastewater networks.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively deliver water network planning solutions focused on flexibility, sustainability, optimisation, integration and whole‑of‑lifecycle cost.
• Develop and evaluate hydraulic network modelling options for water and wastewater systems.
• Provide technical direction, mentor junior professionals and contribute to standards and guides.
• Engage in business development activities, including client interaction, proposal preparation and bid management.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in network planning and hydraulic modelling of water and/or wastewater systems.
• Understanding of water planning policies, regulations, frameworks and emerging technologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Interest or experience in project management.
