Mechanical Fitters – Casual Shifts in Gladstone Region

About the role

EnerMech is seeking trade‑qualified Mechanical Fitters for immediate start on shutdown and maintenance projects across the Gladstone region. The role involves supporting site teams with planned and reactive mechanical work in heavy‑industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance, repair and overhaul activities.
• Support shutdowns, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project scopes across industrial sites.
• Inspect, service, align, assemble and replace mechanical components and equipment.
• Assist with pumps, valves, conveyors, fixed plant, rotating equipment, pipework and associated systems.
• Read and interpret drawings, work packs, procedures and technical documentation.
• Complete work safely in line with permits, risk assessments, job plans and site requirements.

Required profile

• Australian recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitter and Turner or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in shutdowns, maintenance, turnarounds, breakdowns or project work.
• Experience in LNG, oil & gas, mining, resources, power generation, alumina, refinery or similar heavy‑industrial settings.
• Current driver’s licence and relevant site inductions (White Card, working at heights, confined space, EWP, gas testing, first aid).
• Full Australian working rights and recent police clearance.

Required skills

• Mechanical fitting and installation.
