Configuration Lead

About the role

The Configuration Lead assists the Configuration Supervisor in managing a multi‑skilled team responsible for planning, coordinating and executing configuration changes to critical facilities infrastructure, systems and equipment. The role ensures seamless alteration of cabling, power, space and cooling for the Operations building while maintaining high service levels and minimizing mission risk.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team in the management and control of critical infrastructure configuration, ensuring change‑management practices are followed.
• Plan, coordinate and execute electrical work, cable and fiber installation, and troubleshooting for facility upgrades.
• Prepare, develop and maintain documentation of facility standard configurations.
• Review and advise on proposed infrastructure changes from concept through detailed design.
• Report power and cooling requirements to keep the Configuration Supervisor informed of deliverables.
• Promote health and safety, conduct risk assessments and support safety‑sensitive activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical field, preferably in data‑center or critical power environments.
• Leadership experience with team planning, scheduling, training and performance management.
• Ability to work under deadlines in a high‑stress environment.
• Security clearance: Top‑Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) or TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Required skills

• US‑recognized Master Electrician License (or ability to obtain Australian White Card).
• Knowledge of data‑center power systems, load management and power generation/distribution.
• Experience with HVAC, building management and control systems.
• Proficiency in LOTO procedures and facilities operation/maintenance.
• Cabling and fiber installation expertise (BICSI certification desirable).
