About the role

The Transport Officer role is a frontline position with Sydney Trains, focused on ensuring fare compliance and delivering high‑quality customer service across the network. You will work directly with passengers, helping them understand travel conditions while maintaining safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Educate passengers on fare rules and travel conditions, issuing fines or cautions when necessary.
• Provide courteous, effective service in high‑pressure situations and resolve passenger queries.
• Collaborate with a close‑knit team to support network operations and maintain compliance standards.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to achieve the best outcomes for customers and the rail system.
