About the role
As the Practice Leader for Rail and Mass Transit in Queensland, based in Brisbane, you will set the vision for Aurecon’s rail practice, drive growth and deliver high‑impact infrastructure solutions for the region.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and inclusion.
- Build and maintain trusted, long‑term relationships with clients, acting as a strategic partner across key accounts.
- Identify market opportunities using your professional network to strengthen Aurecon’s position and drive sustainable business growth.
- Implement the practice strategy, aligning people, capability and project delivery with business objectives.
- Champion excellence in project delivery, ensuring quality outcomes that enhance client confidence and repeat business.
- Collaborate across disciplines and geographies to bring the best of Aurecon to clients and communities.
- Apply a strong commercial lens to decision‑making, balancing client outcomes, risk management, profitability and long‑term growth.
- Represent Aurecon in industry forums, professional networks and stakeholder engagements.
Required profile
- Significant leadership experience within the rail industry, with a proven track record of building successful teams and delivering strategic growth.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain executive‑level client relationships that generate long‑term value.
- Established industry profile and network capable of generating new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing performance, profitability and business development initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Relevant qualifications and expertise in a rail‑related discipline.
