Service Technician – Rotating Equipment

About the role

The Service Technician will work hands‑on with a wide range of rotating equipment, focusing on centrifugal pumps and compressors built to API standards. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will support both workshop‑based and on‑site service activities across Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance and overhaul of general‑purpose and heavy‑duty pumps and compressors to API specifications.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and execute high‑quality repairs in the workshop and at customer sites.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, quality standards and the company’s Integrated Management System.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales and customer support to provide technical feedback on equipment performance.
• Maintain detailed service reports, inspection records and documentation for warranty and traceability.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional service and clear communication.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and mentor junior technicians.
• Assist with equipment assembly, testing and commissioning for new projects as required.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent trade qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience servicing pumps and compressors.
• Ability to work safely and independently in workshop and field environments.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and internal teams.

Required skills

• Experience with centrifugal pumps and compressors.
• Familiarity with API standards – API 610, API 685, API 675, API 618.
• Mechanical diagnostics and repair of rotating equipment.
• Equipment assembly, testing and commissioning.
