Senior Tax Accountant – Australian Individual Tax

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to lead Australian individual tax compliance for our diverse client base. The role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting tax planning, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring high‑quality, timely service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Australian individual income tax returns and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ATO regulations and meet lodgment deadlines.
• Analyse financial records, deductions, and tax‑related documents for accuracy.
• Assist clients with tax planning and provide practical solutions.
• Prepare amendments, objections and other tax‑related filings as needed.
• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office on behalf of clients.
• Maintain confidential, well‑organized client records.
• Stay current with Australian tax legislation and best practices.
• Review and mentor work performed by junior accountants.
• Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Australian individual taxation and compliance.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and numerical abilities.
