Senior Manager, Health & Safety

About the role

ACCIONA is delivering Stage 1 of The Wave, a 19‑km dual‑track passenger rail on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. As Senior Manager, Health & Safety you will shape the safety strategy for this $5.5 billion project, report directly to the Project Director and lead a team of Safety Managers, Advisors and Coordinators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of health and safety programs across ACCIONA’s scope on The Wave Stage 1.
• Conduct and lead incident investigations, enforce corrective actions and apply root‑cause analysis to drive lasting improvement.
• Drive risk assessments, safety audits and site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Coach, mentor and develop Safety Managers, Advisors and Coordinators to build capability.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and report results to executive leadership.
• Partner with project leadership to embed a positive safety culture throughout the multi‑partner delivery team.
• Review, update and improve safety policies, procedures and management systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
• Lead Auditor qualification.
• Certification or qualification in incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Proven experience delivering health and safety on rail or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated leadership of safety teams on complex, multi‑partner projects.
