About the role
Aurecon is seeking an experienced Senior Contaminated Land Consultant / Manager to join its Queensland Environment and Planning team. The role involves leading contaminated land projects across Queensland and Australia, delivering everything from desktop assessments to detailed site investigations and remediation.
Key responsibilities
- Design, manage and deliver large contaminated land projects.
- Develop and implement Sampling Analysis and Quality Plans.
- Coordinate and lead fieldwork campaigns, including soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, drilling supervision, test pitting and groundwater well installation.
- Prepare high‑quality technical reports meeting ASC NEPM requirements.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, clients and regulators.
- Lead proposal development and overall project management.
Required profile
- Degree in environmental engineering or a related science discipline.
- Significant experience delivering contaminated land and/or groundwater investigations across multiple sectors.
- Strong professional work ethic and commitment to health and safety.
- Knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1994, NEPM and Queensland contaminated‑land legislation.
- Australian citizenship or ability to obtain it in the future.
- Current open driver’s licence.
