Senior Construction Inspector – Queensland Public Safety

About the role

WorkSafe Queensland is seeking a Senior Inspector (Construction) to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving health and safety outcomes across Queensland’s high‑risk workplaces. This role offers a structured onboarding programme, ongoing training and mentorship, enabling you to make a tangible difference in worker safety.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate incidents and conduct inspections to prevent serious injuries and fatalities.
• Hold non‑compliant businesses accountable and enforce safety regulations.
• Educate workplaces on their legal obligations and promote a strong safety culture.
• Support the implementation of recommendations from the Best Practice Review of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
• Collaborate with industry stakeholders to influence safety practices.

Required profile

• Excellent written communication, time‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Practical experience applying safety protocols in operational or regulatory settings.
• Resilience and professionalism to manage difficult conversations and challenging situations.
• Confidence engaging with people at all levels, educating, influencing and enforcing compliance when needed.
• Genuine commitment to improving safety for Queensland workers.
