Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a high‑performing finance team in Sydney. The role blends financial control, analysis and business partnering, offering direct exposure to senior stakeholders and the chance to influence strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end processes, including journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Deliver insightful management reports with clear commentary and variance analysis.
• Partner with business units to support budgeting, forecasting and cost management.
• Provide deep analysis of staff costs, expenses and overall business performance.
• Prepare statutory accounts and support audit activities.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity and robust financial controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified with 8+ years of experience in medium‑large organisations.
• Strong background in management accounting, expense management and business partnering.
• Proven ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders confidently.
• Advanced skills in financial analysis, budgeting and variance analysis.
• Solid technical accounting expertise, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Hands‑on, proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• Excellent Excel capability and experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 advantageous).
