Security Engineer

About the role

DXC Managed Cyber Services is expanding its Security Engineering team in the Australia & New Zealand market. The Security Engineer will work within the Secured Infrastructure capacity to deliver and manage cyber security services for a range of enterprise and public sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard, manage and troubleshoot cybersecurity services for customers.
• Assist with high‑priority incidents affecting infrastructure and security.
• Ensure security policies, configurations and compliance meet or exceed industry best practices.
• Perform daily operational tasks to meet Service Level Agreements and automate repetitive activities.
• Execute project‑related tasks and stay current with emerging security technologies and AI‑driven tools.
• Liaise with vendors and their technical support/engineering teams for advanced‑level assistance.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in IT/OT security operations for medium or large enterprises.
• Australian citizenship with a current National Police Clearance and Australian Federal Government Baseline Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain or hold the required clearances.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with NGFW solutions such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet or Cisco.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms – Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in high‑priority incident response.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Microsoft AZ‑900, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSE, Fortinet NSE 7, Cisco CCNP).
• Understanding of the OSI model and TCP/IP networking.
